The Exploding Tank Error. Because their punch is so unfathomably fast and powerful, the impact creates a literal cavitation bubble in the water that emits a microscopic flash of light and heat equal to the surface of the sun. THE LETHAL ERROR: If you keep a large Peacock Mantis Shrimp in a standard, thin glass aquarium, it can (and often will) become annoyed by its own reflection, punch the glass, instantly crack the pane, and empty 50 gallons of saltwater onto your living room floor. You are highly advised to house them exclusively in thick Acrylic tanks or extremely thick, heavy-duty glass aquariums.

The Serial Killer Solitary Confinement (Compatibility):

The Clean-Up Crew Slaughter. You absolutely CANNOT put them in a standard reef tank. They are ruthless, psychopathic hunters. If you put them with expensive fish, ornamental shrimp, hermit crabs, or snails... the Mantis Shrimp will systematically stalk them, punch their hard shells into dust with a sickening 'CRACK' sound echoing through your living room, and eat them alive. They MUST be kept in absolute solitary confinement in a 'Species-Only' tank, and you must NEVER put your bare fingers near them (they are notoriously nicknamed 'Thumb-Splitters').
