Archerfish
Toxotes chatareus
The Brackish Sniper (15 inches / 40 cm). The Archerfish shoots water bullets to knock insects out of the sky. But it is a nightmare to house correctly. It needs a massive Brackish water Paludarium.

Care and observations
The Paludarium Mandate: You MUST keep the tank only half-full of water. The top half must be open air with branches. You have to buy live crickets and stick them to the branches so the fish can practice shooting them down with water. If kept in a normal fish tank, they become deeply stressed and depressed.
The Brackish Reality: Sold as freshwater, but keeping them without marine salt guarantees early death.
