Ecsenius bicolor

The Hole-Dwelling Observer (4 inches / 10 cm). Half purple, half orange. It finds a tiny, perfectly round hole in the live rock and backs into it, watching the room all day.

Care and observations

The Sneaky Coral Nipper: Usually reef safe, but some individuals develop a rogue habit of aggressively nipping at the delicate flesh of SPS corals and the mantles of Clams, causing them to permanently stay closed and die from stress.
